THE UNFORGIVABLE SIN

THE UNFORGIVABLE SIN

Mat 12:31-32 KJV Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

The Unforgivable Sin is a scripture that is hard to fully understand. I do not pretend to fully understand it, but will give the facts and my conclusion. I challenge everyone to examine this important scripture that directly addresses salvation.

JUST THE FACTS:
1. Jesus said “all” sin and blasphemy shall be “forgiven.”
2. Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost (Spirit, NIV) shat NOT be “forgiven.”
3. Speaking against the “Son of man, [Jesus] it shall be forgiven.”
4. Speaking “against the Holy Ghost, will NOT be forgiven.”
5. The Father is not even mentioned!

QUESTIONS:
1. If God is triune, why is it OK to speak against Jesus, but unforgivable to speak against the Holy Spirit, since the Catholic Trinity Doctrine states all 3 parts of Jehovah are equal?
2. If God is triune, why is the Father, who Jesus claims is both his and our God, not even mentioned?
3. Why does it mention “neither in the world to come?”

POSSIBLE ANSWERS:
1. The whole Bible teaches Jehovah is the one God and Jesus tells us God is made up of only “one Lord:”
a. Mar 12:29 KJV And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
b. Mar 12:32 KJV And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he.”
Realize a belief in one God made up of two or more Gods predated Jesus. A triune God, Trimurti was a pagan BC God. Also, Paul, speaks of the twin Gods Castor and Pollux in Acts 28:11. Furthermore, the Catholic Trinity Doctrine is clear that all three are equal, and one could not blaspheme one more than the other!

2. The Father is not mentioned because the Holy Spirit is the Father. That is why Jesus taught us to pray, “Our Father.” Furthermore, the Father NEVER has a conversation with the Holy Spirit because Jehovah does not have a conversation with himself!

3. The Bible tells us to judge the behavior of others, but never to judge one’s salvation. Even Jesus only judges salvation as he is told by the Father.
Joh 8:15-16 KJV Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man. 16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.

4. We know there is a final judgement after we die. When is not important for this issue. What is important is that final determination is made AFTER we die. Thus, it MAY be possible to be forgiven after death as well as before death. To believe otherwise, asserts final judgment is not really a judgment, but only a proclamation of sins forgiven while living. To completely reject the idea of forgiveness after death also goes against the possibility of forgiveness “in the world to come” as mentioned by Jesus.
As I understand it, speaking against Jesus may be forgiven, but speaking against God is unforgiveable because not only does one not believe in God, but he actually tries to influence others to reject God. As the scripture states:
Mat 5:19 NIV Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

MY CONCLUSION:
It is unforgivable to speak out against God (His Holy Spirit). However, it is possible for one to be forgiven for just not having a strong faith. As always, one must ask for forgiveness, and God knows what is in our hearts. If Jesus asked for those crucifying him to be forgiven, there is hope for some who may be written-off by humans. That is why even Jesus does not make his own judgement, but speaks in our behalf.
It is clear what one must do to be saved, but not as clear where God’s mercy begins and ends. To pretend one knows this, is a sin in itself! Regarding salvation, one should remember the following scriptures:
 Luke 23:34 NIV Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.
 Jas 3:17 NIV But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
 2Pe 2:20-21 NIV If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them.
 1Ti 2:5-6 NIV For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.
 1Co 5:12-13 NIV What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. "Expel the wicked person from among you."
 Jud 1:14-15 NIV Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about them: "See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones 15 to judge everyone, and to convict all of them of all the ungodly acts they have committed in their ungodliness, and of all the defiant words ungodly sinners have spoken against him."
 Joh 8:15-16 NIV You judge by human standards; I pass judgment on no one. But if I do judge, my decisions are true, because I am not alone. I stand with the Father, who sent me.
 Heb 10:30 NIV For we know him who said, "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," and again, "The Lord will judge his people."
